Every year, at the end of May, the Scottish island of Islay becomes a stage for Feis Ile, a grand festival of music, art, and of course whisky! At this festival Laphroaig unveils their annual bottling of Cairdeas (Gaelic for friendship).
This year's bottling is finished in Port casks, which is immediately evident in the color. The "sunset" hue is a characteristic of many whiskies aged in Port, or other red wine casks. It is uncommon, however, to see this coming out of Laphroaig.
One of a kind indeed!
Each yearly release is small in number and highly anticipated. It has arrived on our shores, but won't be here long. Pick one up while you can!
