The 2014 Graham's Block 7 is a great example of Pinot Noir from the northwestern corner of the Willamette Valley. An intriguing array of aromas that include raspberry, black cherry, cedar and sandalwood lead to a preserved cherry, savory herbs, green peppercorn and pie spice. Lithe tannins add structure and verve and a mild smokiness offers a memorable finish. It is striking now and has great aging potential.
Planted in 1982, Montinore Estate is a 200-acre Demeter Certified Biodynamic® and CCOF Certified Organic vineyard that lies at the northern end of the Willamette Valley appellation, along the east-facing slope of the Coastal Range foothills in Oregon. In addition to the certifications, we use dry farming and sustainable growing practices. Our close attention to each step of the grape-growing process is rooted in the belief that exceptional wine is born of a sustained marriage of soil, climate and artful stewardship. Our goal has always been to create approachable wines that reflect the soil and overall place from which they come.
"Sweet and expansive on the palate, offering intense blackberry and cherry compote flavors brightened by peppery spice and mineral flourishes." - Josh Raynolds (Vinous)
