Ruby red-violet. A striking aroma, quite redolent of ripe cherries and red berries. It is deep, full and harmonious in the mouth, with a long finish that maintains lasting taste and finishes with almond. Excellent, balanced, fragrant; optimal drinkability.

La Braida is a young company living off great synergies and enthusiasm that involve the whole family. The estate was inherited by Giacomo Bologna in the mid 1900's and this is when the winery started to develop. The estate was founded in 1961 by Anna Raffaella and Giuseppe Bologna. The vineyard is called "Braida" because it was a nickname Giuseppe Bologna earned for playing stretch ball-a local Piedmont sport on Sundays. Braida wines are imported by Vinifera Imports, LTD. Rafaella Briada deals with the commercial aspects of the business and his brother Beppe oversees agriculture and production sectors. They both tend to nobility and quality of their work. For them wine is a life plan and a way of expressing themselves. Passion Vines is thrilled by their perspective because we believe Braida is "passionate" about their work. We work hard to make sure this quality of product is on our shelves.
Wine maker notes
Fermentation in steel tubs for 2-3 weeks during which time, in addition to numerous operations of pumping the must over the dregs, there is a staging procedure to drain around 10% of the product. Malolactic fermentation and fining (6 months) take place in wood casks with a capacity of 20 and 55 Hl.

Technical notes
The wine was fermented in steel tubs for 2-3 weeks. Went through malolactic fermentation and fining for 6 months in wood casks.

Food pairing
A wine for the whole meal, favors first courses of rice and pasta.

It all began with the nickname “Braida”, which was acquired by the great-grandfather Giuseppe Bologna who was a champion in playing “pallone elastico” on town and church squares, a typical sport of the Piedmont region. Giacomo Bologna inherited both vineyards and nickname from his father, but above all an unconditional love for his land and wine.Since 1961 until today Braida has been the amplified and faithful image of the philosophy of Giacomo and Anna, their prospect of life, earth, wine and friendship. Raffaella and Giuseppe Bologna, both oenologists, are the third “Braida” generation and are united by the initial dream to elevate the Barbera grape into a noble status which for some would seem to be reserved only for international varieties.
