Altos Las Hormigas was conceived in 1995 as a joint project between 5 men; Marco de Grazia, winemaking consultant Attilio Pagli, Le Terrazze’s owner Antino Terni, Alberto Antonini of Antinori and Antonio Mareschalchi. They saw great potential in the Malbec grape variety in this region.

Fermented in stainless steel at32 C. Maceration lasts for 4 weeks. Aged in small new French oak for up to 15 months during malolactic fermentation.
Vineyard Characteristics: Alluvial soil at an elevation of 800-900 meters above sea level with eastern exposure. The climate is semi-dessert with very hot days and very cool nights. It seldom rains.
