Part of Chono Winery's production is certified organic. Alvaro Espinoza, the owner and winemaker, has some experience with biodynamic farming, as well. Alvaro's father first started Chono by planting Carmenere and Cabernet Sauvignon. Once Alvaro joined the business, he added Syrah. Alvaro followed in his father's footsteps and they both have received the Chilean Enology award for outstanding winemaking. Alvaro also works for several other Chilean products as a consultant.
