Bond is a newer winery that produced its first wines in 1997. It is guided and operated by the winemaking team of Harlan Estate. They produce six different types of Cabernet Sauvignon based wines, each having their own cellar. The intent of the winery is to create a staple of Napa Valley ‘Grand Cru’ offerings, with each vineyard reflecting the varying terroir of America’s premier source of Cabernet Sauvignon.
Melbury Vineyard, a breathtaking hillside estate overlooking Lake Hennessey, is just northeast of Rutherford. Melbury is named after an avenue in London, where the estate owners live much of the year. Melbury’s mineral soils render wine with fabulous extraction yet with an underlying degree of finesse uncommon in American Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine features sweet nose of roasted meats, black fruits and charcoal. The mid-palate possesses fabulous depth, sweet tannin and seamless balance. One of America’s best….Drink 2009-2020.
