In the early 1970s Robert Pecota became involved in the wine business. Bob acquired 40 acres of land at the northern end of Napa Valley, near the town of Calistoga, and began pursuing his dream of operating a small family winery. In 1978, he established Robert Pecota Winery and made his first commercial wines. Today, nearly 30 years later, Bob, his two daughters, Kara and Andrea, and his second family of winery employees manage the winery and its 37-acre estate vineyard. The winery's small production of handcrafted wines, each produced from a single vineyard, has earned a loyal following among wine lovers throughout the United States.
