Caymus Vineyards was founded by Charles F. Wagner together with his wife Lorna and their son Charles Jr. on the family's Rutherford property. The winery's 60-plus acres of estate Cabernet Sauvignon in Napa Valley's Rutherford District is the foundation of Caymus famous Cabernets. The very first Cabernet Sauvignon was produced from the 1972 vintage, and the first special selection Cabernet was produced in 1975. Production has remained at the same level since the 1989 vintage.
