Blanketed by grapevines, the country of Italy has a diverse array of wines. Piedmont has a high concentration of legendary wines, such as those made in Barolo and Barbaresco. The romantic region of Tuscany has its fair share as well. The alpine regions of Alto-Adige and Friuli deliver highly aromatic expressions of white wines along with some unique reds. The Veneto region offers a full spectrum of sparkling, white, and red wines at all price points, and don't forget about southern Italian regions like Puglia and Campania, who work almost exclusively with ancient, native grape varieties. You could spend your entire life sampling Italian wine and never taste the same thing twice!
