The Lauverjat family has been growing grapes in Sancerre for generations in the tiny village of Sury-en-Vaux. Husband-and-wife team Christian and Karine have 30 acres of vines in Sancerre and Pouilly-Fume. Their rose is made entirely from Pinot Noir using the saignée method, in which the juice is separated from the skins once ths colour is right. Fermented and aged in stainless steel, it has enticing aromas of wild strawberries and the classic mineral backbone that typifies the wines of Sancerre.
